Voicemail drop-off check
Say you check the voicemail light after a client meeting. Three messages. The call log says you missed eleven. Where did the other eight go? This check uses your own phone log to show how many missed callers left a message and how many just hung up. Enter the missed calls and voicemails for the same stretch of time, and add your callbacks if you track them. You'll get the share of missed callers who left nothing, and what that looks like over a week and a year. There's no industry figure in here. It's your log, so it's your answer.
Fill in the period, your missed calls and your voicemails for the same dates.
How this works
Voicemails divided by missed calls = the share who left a message. The rest left nothing. The silent missed calls are divided by the number of weeks you counted for a week (a period entered in days is divided by 7 first), and multiplied by 52 for a year. If you enter callbacks, callbacks that reached the person divided by callbacks made = your callback reach rate.
Every number is yours. The check shows no outside voicemail figure.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find missed-call and voicemail counts?
Your phone system's call log shows missed calls, and your voicemail inbox shows messages. Use the same dates for both.
What if some missed callers rang back later?
The check can't see that. If you know some missed callers got through on a later call, take them off the missed count first.
What's a good result?
There's no official benchmark, and we won't invent one. Compare your own result month to month.
