Time zone call window helper
Say your practice is in Adelaide. A client in Perth finishes work, rings at 4.30 their time and gets your after-hours message, because in summer it's already 7 o'clock where you are. This helper shows your opening hours in your clients' local time. Pick your state, set your hours and tick the states your clients are in. Choose a date, because daylight saving shifts the gaps in October and April. You'll see when each group of clients can reach you, and the part of their day when they can't, so you can decide if that gap matters for the clients you've got. Daylight saving rules come from state government pages. The time zone maths uses the standard time zone database.
Pick your state, set your hours and tick where your clients are.
How this works
The helper takes your opening and closing times on the chosen date in your state's time zone, and shows both in each client state's local time, with the difference between the two. Then it compares that window with your clients' day (8am to 6pm unless you change it) and shows the part of their day when you're closed. The time zone offsets for the date come from your browser's copy of the standard time zone database, so daylight saving is handled for the date you pick.
Daylight saving starts at 2am on the first Sunday in October and ends at 3am on the first Sunday in April, in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT. Sources: NSW Government, daylight saving; Tasmanian Government, daylight saving in Tasmania; IANA time zone database.
Frequently asked questions
Which states use daylight saving?
New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT. Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory don't.
When do the clocks change?
Daylight saving starts at 2am on the first Sunday in October and ends at 3am on the first Sunday in April. For 2026-27 that's 4 October 2026 and 4 April 2027.
Why do I need to pick a date?
Because the gap between some states changes with daylight saving. Sydney and Brisbane share the same time in winter but sit an hour apart in summer.
